Kid-friendly Bike Ride to Ice Cream - Kidical Mass

Ride is on! Get wet at the Irving Park splash pad to stay cool. We will have an ice cream trike riding with us.
Celebrate the last weekend day before school by riding bikes to get ice cream on Mississippi Avenue with other kids and families as part of Kidical Mass! We will ride from Irving Park in NE on this free, family-friendly, kid-paced bike ride.
We’ll start at the Irving Park playground at 2pm, and ride 1.5 miles to a place on Mississippi Avenue where you can get Ice Cream. This is the last Sunday before school starts for PPS, so this is a great time to ride bikes as family before we switch to Bike Bus season!
Meet at 2:00pm, ride bikes at 2:15pm. The bike ride is a flat 3 mile loop, so it is suitable for most young bike riders who can pedal their own bike without training wheels. We will stop for a while to get ice cream and donuts. This ride is free, but bring money to get ice cream.
We will ride at a slow pace for little pedalers and parents on cargo bikes. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to balance and pedal in a straight line, start and stop. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for kids who haven’t learned to pedal. Adult corkers are welcome to join as a traffic safety superheroes.
We’ll ride together as a group, rain or shine, because kids are traffic too!
