Join us for the Kick-Smart School Holiday Camp! This action-packed, five-day experience—taught by Dr Louis Burt, a highly accomplished teacher and world-class martial artist—packs our renowned 6-week program into one week, maximising fun and learning!
From 10 AM to 2 PM each day, kids will boost their fitness and maths skills while exploring a range of martial arts in engaging and interactive ways. Backed by research and designed by world-leading experts from the University of Newcastle, this program combines effective learning with energetic physical activities. During breaks, students can relax with fun activities like martial arts-themed movies (G or PG-rated) and creative art and design sessions. Lunch and a snack are provided each day to keep them fueled, and the first 5 students registered for the entire week receive a FREE Kick-Smart T-shirt! PROGRAM
Day 1: Gymnastics & Parkour
Learn essential self-preservation skills like proper falls and rolls, as well as parkour basics to safely jump and maneuver over obstacles—perfect for building confidence in movement and escape tactics.
Day 2: Self-Defense
Master key self-defense techniques, including ways to escape from grabs and holds, along with effective blocking, dodging, and deflection strategies for real-life scenarios.
Day 3: Basic Grappling
Get hands-on with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and beginner grappling techniques that introduce safe and effective moves like takedowns, submissions, and sweeps.
Day 4: Basic Striking
Build a strong foundation in striking, learning techniques from Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Karate, focusing on punches, kicks, and movement skills for beginners.
Day 5: Mixed Martial Arts & Martial Acrobatics
Combine all skills learnt in an MMA-based session and then in the second half of the day, explore thrilling martial arts acrobatics! Students will try tornado kicks, jump kicks, and other exciting moves in a fun, high-energy session.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
MANDATORY EQUIPMENT - Mouth Guard. We will provide almost everything, BUT... While contact will be minimal, students must have a mouth guard (available for under $11 at chemists and rebel sport) for days 3, 4 & 5. If your child owns boxing gloves and shin guards (martial arts ones, not soccer!) these are also helpful to bring along. ALERGIES, DIETARY REQUIRMENTS, & MEDICAL CONDITIONS - If your child has any allergies, dietary requirements, or medical conditions that may impact their participation in this camp, please bring this to our attention at least 1 week prior to the camp dates.

BEHAVIOUR - We understand children can sometimes say and do 'silly' things, and are well equipped with behaviour management strategies. However, due to the dangerous nature of some techniques involved (if performed incorrectly or maliciously), and the ethics Kick-Smart aims to promote, instructors and all Kick-Smart assistants take behaviour and manners very seriously and reserve the right to exclude children from activities or even the remainder of the day, depending on the severity of behaviour exhibited. Severe or repeated poor behaviour may result in exclusion from the entire camp. In the case of a child being excluded from the remainder of the camp due to behaviour issues, NO refund will be given.
