Grab your hat and dust off your boots — the Fort Bend County Fair is kicking off its historic 90th year with one big night of country music, barbecue and Fair family fun featuring Glen Templeton.
The Fort Bend County Fair Kick-Off Dance is set for Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, in Building C at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds. The annual celebration will officially launch Fair season while honoring 90 years of tradition, generations of volunteers and a longstanding commitment to Fort Bend County youth.
This year’s celebration carries special meaning under the anniversary theme, “90 Years Strong. Honoring the Past, Growing the Future.”
Committee members, Life Members, volunteers, supporters and the community are invited to come together for a night that celebrates the people who built the Fair while looking ahead to its next generation.
Glen Templeton will take the stage at 9 p.m., bringing live country music to the milestone celebration. Before the show, guests can enjoy dinner provided by Schulze’s BBQ from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The evening will also feature live and silent auctions and a cash bar with beer, soft drinks and setups.
For nine decades, volunteers have been the backbone of the Fort Bend County Fair. From committee members who work throughout the year to Life Members who have dedicated years of service, generations of volunteers have helped produce events, support exhibitors, welcome Fair guests and create opportunities for local youth.
That commitment remains at the heart of the Fair’s mission.
In 2026, the Fort Bend County Fair awarded $250,000 in scholarships, with 50 students receiving $5,000 each. Additional scholarships were awarded through the Fair Queen Scholarship Contest.
The quarter-million-dollar investment in scholarships is one example of how the Fair’s impact reaches far beyond the annual celebration. It also reflects the meaning behind the 90th anniversary — honoring the generations who built the Fair while investing in those who will carry its traditions forward.
