In terms of a tournament, it's quite informal -- fantastic for beginners and the experienced alike. We will be using standard tournament rules to resolve disputes (which will be posted).You can pre-register at Kentville Chess meetings, or register on the day of the event.
Time: Registration at 5:30pm, Games start at 6pm sharp, End at 8pm
Entry fee: $5 (some proceeds to go to purchasing new equipment for the club)
Time controls: 5 minutes per side
Cash prizes for winners, dependent on the number of registrants, with extra prizes graciously donated by Noypi Filipino-Asian Store and The Border Restaurant. We will also have a draw for a Maritime Express gift certificate open to all entrants.
ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVELS WELCOME! No memberships required. Kentville Chess will calculate and keep local ratings for all players in the event.
Martime Express Cider Co has graciously offered $1 off ciders if you bring a chess clock.
