Kentucky Conservation Committee Legislative Summit 2026

Please join us for a Sunday afternoon, both in person at Kentucky State University (Kentucky State University campus, 400 East Main St, Frankfort, In Extension building, Room 238). or join us via Zoom virtually, on key conservation and environmental issues. We will also be providing additional online resources to provide you with all the necessary advocacy tools you need during the 2026 Kentucky General Assembly and beyond.

What you will learn: These sessions will include a broad look at the anticipated topics of the 2026 General Assembly, related federal legislative issues, basic training on ways for citizens to engage as a “citizen lobbyist”, plus tips on how to be more effective with your legislative advocacy in a virtual world or in person.

And we will also be covering a wide range of issues including:

• Preview of the State Budget
• Investments in Land Conservation
• Community Advocacy - Data Centers
• Nature-Based Solutions - Flooding and Disasters
• Updates on Nuclear Energy - Soluiton or Distraction?
• and more

Included will be an overview of bills that are already filed in the General Assembly, or anticipated to be filed, along with KCC’s analysis and recommendations for action.

In addition, we will be reviewing federal initiatives that are "ripe" for local action, and emerging conservation issues in Kentucky.

Sessions will include additional online toolkits and opportunities to speak directly with lawmakers and issue experts on a range of conservation topics.

These informative sessions will be free and open to the public, however we always appreciate donations to support our continuing work. (Note: Donations to the Kentucky Conservation Committee are not tax-deductible due to our effective lobbying efforts).
