About Pearl City. . .

Blade.

Butcher.

Thief.

Worldbreaker.

Emiko Soong has been called many things. But Worldbreaker is the worst.

She unmasked the General and returned to San Francisco where her power is greatest. But the city, once her sanctuary from Jiaren intrigues, turns into her living nightmare. Clan wars erupt and Emiko’s life becomes a treacherous quicksand of friend and foe. Unsure of who to trust, Emiko finds herself more alone than ever.

When an ancient power rips through the Realm to land in her city, the General will stop at nothing to take it for his own. Emiko must face her past, present, and future, as she races to stop the General.

Is Emiko’s fate written to be the destroyer of worlds, or can she chart a new course to save her family?

Ken Bebelle has been an avid reader of fantasy, science fiction, and comic books his entire life. His love of SF and Star Wars led him to a career in prosthetics, where he spent twenty-five years, specializing in upper limb replacement. Ken writes Asian-inspired urban fantasy and science fiction with his co-author, Julia Vee. They have two current series, Seattle Slayers, and The Phoenix Hoard. Ken and his wife live in the Pacific Northwest and he would love nothing more than to grow the perfect tomato.

Julia Vee was a trial lawyer in Silicon Valley for over two decades. She still makes stuff up for a living. She attended U.C Berkeley and majored in Asian Studies. A graduate of Viable Paradise, she often writes with co-author Ken Bebelle. They have penned over 10 novels together. Their novel Ebony Gate, an Asian-inspired contemporary fantasy, was published by TOR and named a 2023 Golden Poppy Finalist for the Octavia E. Butler award. The series conclusion, Pearl City, releases in July of 2025.

Sara Hashem is the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Jasad Heir and The Jasad Crown. An Egyptian-American writer from California, she spent many sunny days holed up indoors with a book. Sara’s love for fantasy and magical realms emerged during the two years her family lived in Egypt. When she isn’t busy naming stray cats in her neighborhood after her favorite authors, Sara can be found buried under coffee-ringed notebooks.
