Kellogg Cares Day
About this Event
Growing Hope Together | Kellogg Cares Day at The Hope Center
Join us on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM for a meaningful morning of service at The Hope Center in Blue Island. Together, we'll help address food insecurity in one of Chicagoland's recognized food deserts by harvesting fresh vegetables for local families, winterizing our gardens, and preparing our greenhouse with fresh mulch.
This is a family-friendly event! Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help with gardening projects, create and decorate garden signs, and learn about sustainable urban agriculture.
If the weather moves us indoors, we'll support our hydroponics, aquaponics, and Makers Kitchen by cleaning equipment and preparing our food production spaces for the upcoming harvest.
Doors open at 8:00 AM with complimentary coffee and pan dulce before we begin our service projects.
After serving, we'll wrap up the day by enjoying a complimentary lunch together at The Hope Center. This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow Kellogg alumni, reflect on the impact of the day's service, and build new relationships.
Come ready to serve, connect with fellow Kellogg alumni, and grow hope together.
