When many people think about human trafficking, they imagine something obvious or extreme. In reality, prevention often begins much earlier — with awareness, education, and understanding how grooming and exploitation can starts early and in the palm of a child's hand. Children and teens spend a significant amount of time in digital spaces, including social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps, and group chats. Often, kids don’t recognize when interactions cross a line — and just as often, they don’t go to parents first out of fear of getting in trouble.
That’s why it’s so important that the adults kids trust are informed and prepared.
This free community education session is designed for:
Parents & caregivers
Youth pastors & youth ministry volunteers
Sunday school teachers
School counselors & educators
Coaches, mentors, and childcare workers
Anyone who works with or supports children toddler-young adults
During this session, participants will learn:
How online grooming and manipulation often begin
Things to know before giving your child a phone/ social media.
How to recognize warning signs in online interactions
How to respond calmly and appropriately when a child shares a concern
Where to turn for help when something doesn’t feel right
Debunking myths like men in white vans and white marks on your bumper.
This conversation is not about fear or blame. It’s about equipping the adults in our community with knowledge, confidence, and practical tools so kids don’t have to navigate these situations alone.
