Keegan's 5th Annual Touch-A-Truck

Keegan Robert Langerfeld was born on October 10, 2020, and from the very moment he entered this world, ours changed forever. We fell completely head over heels in love with our bleach-blonde, blue-eyed little boy. Keegan was sweet, adventurous, gentle, and full of joy. He had a smile that could light up any room and a way of making every moment feel special. Every memory we made with him was filled with laughter, love, and happiness.
On the morning of what was supposed to be his first birthday party, October 16, 2021, our lives changed forever. Keegan passed away suddenly, but peacefully, in his sleep. To this day, we still have no answers as to why he is no longer with us. His death was ruled Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), a tragedy that most people have never heard of until it touches their own family. While we will spend the rest of our lives missing him, we will always be grateful for the incredible 371 days we were blessed to call him ours.
In the months after losing Keegan, we couldn't stop thinking about the birthday celebration he never got to have. We went back and forth about whether we could celebrate his birthday at all, but ultimately we knew we had to find a way to honor our boy. That's how Keegan's Touch-A-Truck was born.
That first year exceeded every expectation we could have imagined. One parent we had never met stopped us and said, "Thank you for bringing this event to our community and for teaching us about SUDC. We will always think of Keegan." In that moment, we knew this event had to become a tradition.
Over the past four years, this incredible community has helped us raise nearly $80,000 in Keegan's honor. Every truck, every family, every volunteer, every sponsor, and every donation has allowed Keegan's legacy to continue making a difference. Together, you've helped spread awareness of SUDC while ensuring grieving families know they are not alone.
Please join us on Sunday, October 4, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM for Keegan's 5th Annual Touch-A-Truck as we celebrate what would have been his 6th birthday.

All proceeds benefit the Keegan Cares Initiative at the Adalyn Rose Foundation, which provides financial assistance for grief counseling to families after the loss of a child from early pregnancy through early childhood. Through Keegan's legacy, families receive the support they need during the unimaginable.
