KCFBR: Rock Island Trail

Every ride will accommodate all levels of experience. A ride leader will take the pace of the slowest rider. No one is left behind along the route.

This Rock Island route is roughly 4 miles "out-and-back" (we'll ride two miles then turn around and ride back). The trail is ever-so-slightly downhill riding south from Crane Brewery, which means it's ever-so-slightly uphill on the way back. You can turn around at any time! There are a few crossings at public roads that we will cross together.

If your children are riding their own bikes, it's good to understand their endurance levels. We encourage you to ride for your family's success and enjoyment. If that means...

• you turn back after ten minutes - you did it!
• peeling off halfway - high fives!
• you ride all the way with us - Hooray!

Come as you are / as you typically ride! The Rock Island Trail is crushed gravel and suitable for any age or ability, so long as they know how to go forward :) The ride leader will contact families the day before the ride with contact details or to cancel due to inclement weather.

You assume your own risk by participating in this ride. (We’re just fun parents like you, so can’t afford to be sued.) Helmets and age-appropriate safety gear is strongly encouraged. The event is drizzle-or-shine, above 45°F and below 90°F. Check for updates.

We will not ride if the forecasted "real feel" temp is 90°+ at 10am

We will not ride if it's raining at 9:30am, or if the radar shows impending doom.
