Join the Minnesota Chpater of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for a Stewardship and Campout Weekend in the Superior National Forest June 12-14th!
We will be setting up camp Friday, June 12th at a Forest Service campground. Starting Saturday morning, we will caravan to the work site and be clearing and maintaining a Hunter Walker Trail near the St. Louis River in need of maintenance due to recent fires, funding cuts, and personnel shortages. These trails are non-motorized trails dedicated for foot-only traffic and managed primarily for hunting, so BHA is just the org for the job!
We will work Saturday for roughly 6 hours, than head back to camp, where we will facilitate a visit to one of the proposed copper-nickel mine sites that currently threaten the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and look and the effects of modern forestry practices on game populations and habitat.
What to Bring:
Camping Gear
Work Appropriate clothing
Work Gloves
Water Bottle
