Katina Robe Offering Ceremony | 2026

Dear Friends of Oregon Buddhist Vihara,
The Annual Katina Ceremony at Oregon Buddhist Vihara will be held on November 14 & 15th. This year marks the 21st anniversary of Oregon Buddhist Vihara. On Ven. Pallebage Chandrasiri Mahanayake Thero's advice, this year's Katina Ceremony is sponsored by Kalum & Sammani Hettiarachchi Family. You are cordially invited to this special ceremony.

Saturday, November 14th
5:00 pm - Evening Buddha puja
5:30 pm - Offering Gilanpasa for monks
6:00 pm - Pirith chanting begins
7:30 pm - dinner for attendees
10:00 pm - Pirith Chanting ends.
Sunday, November 15th (Morning Program)
6:00 am - Katina Perahera
6:30 am - Handing over the Katina Robe for preparation
7:00 am - Buddha puja
7:30 am - Heel Dana (Breakfast for monks)
8:00 am - Breakfast for attendees
Sunday, November 15th (Afternoon Program)
11:00 am - Lunch Dana offering (Buddha Pooja)
11:25 am - Katina Robe Pooja with Lunch dana
12:00 pm - Katina Aanisansa (Reflection on Merits of the Katina Robe Offering)
12:30 pm - Lunch Dana for attendees
1:30 pm - Conclusion of the Ceremony & Cleanup
