SF Bay Area based theater non-profit Katha Munch is back with their 4th production ‘Husband on Hire’ a comedy play in English suitable for the entire family. There are two show options - 4 PM and 6:30 PM on Saturday, April 26th. The shows are at Douglas Morrisson theater in Hayward CA.

Set in 1970s India in a small, tight-knit community, rumors and reputations matter more than reality. When Sheela finds herself under pressure to conform to societal expectations of having a "perfect husband," she devises an unconventional plan to keep up appearances. As the lines between pretense and reality blur, the arrangements Sheela makes quickly spiral into a series of hilarious misunderstandings and chaos.

Originally written in Hindi as 'Udhaar ka Pati' by Dr. Vanmala Bhawalkar, this script has been translated and adapted into English by Spandana Akella.

Directed by Lalitha Nanduri and featuring an eminent star cast of thriving Bay Area theater artists, the production promises a delightful comedy of errors suitable for all ages, exploring the complex dynamics of societal expectations and personal connections.
