Whether performing gospel or country music, Karen Hester has delighted audiences around the world. Her musical and theatrical roots began in childhood, and she would eventually appear in World's Greatest Tribute Bands, opening for Ricky Van Shelton and Trace Adkins as well as other numerous theatrical roles like Legends in Concert and Superstar Tributes and the 2023 winner of Clash of the Cover Bands.
Bringing her talents abroad, Karen has excelled in a variety of show productions both onstage and in consulting positions. She continues to follow her passion for entertaining through many ventures, including her tribute show, Karen as Dolly.
Coming from a family of musical people where everyone either picked up an instrument or sang along to the tune of the hour, the stage is as close to her heart as her son. She started by singing at family reunions, gospel quartets and trios, and then started venturing into theatrical productions and country music. Drawing inspiration from Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Martina McBride and Dolly Parton, as Karen grew, so did her passion for music and performance.
Now, she has been cast in regional and national commercials, acted in the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater shows at the House of Blues, featured in top production shows including Legends in Concert, Superstars Live in Concert, "The Dean Martin Show" at the Palace Theatre, and performed as an impersonator for "Dino's TV Variety Show". She was in the off-Broadway hit "The Marvelous Wonderettes” and was the understudy for both female roles in "Golf: The Musical". Additionally, she has been the opening act for recording artists such as Trace Adkins and Ricky Van Shelton.
Harnessing this wide array of professional experience, and topping it off with outstanding costumes, wigs and makeup, Karen is a must see performing artist.
