Karaoke Idol Auditions Week 1

AUDITIONS: Open auditions will be held on Saturday, 1/31 & Friday, 2/6. Each contestant must sign up & register for either of the two auditionnights, prior to their selected day, by emailing DJ Corey at [email protected] or texting him at 207-804-6931. Only 12 contestants will fill each of the audition nights so register early. Only 8, from each night, will move on. If you are not selected on 1/31 you may audition again on 2/6 if spots are available. In the event of a tie vote, at the end of each audition night, more than 8 contestants may move on to the competition, meaning more contestants will be eliminated on week 1. All song choices must be received by the DJ, from the DJ’s supplied list, by 8pm the day before your audition.

CONTESTANTS: Each contestant will be asked to fill out a form to include their name, phone number & a valid email for corresponding w/ the DJ. Each contestant must sign a copy of these rules, agreeing that they will be available to compete in each of the 8 competition weeks if voted forward. If a contestant fails to show or cannot make a week, they will be eliminated from the competition. Up to week three we will choose an alternate contestant, from the auditions, to take the place of any contestant not able to fulfill their commitment within the contest.

COMPETITION: Competition weeks are Saturdays, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 3/28 & 4/4 at 6pm. A random order of performances will be decided upon each night prior to the start of competition. If a contestant is not present when their name is called, they may be eliminated unless the judges & DJ agree to let the contestant compete later in the evening.

SONG CHOICES: Contestants will be supplied with song lists to choose from each week by the DJ. All song choices must be selected from the supplied list only & turned into the DJ no later than 8pm the day prior to the competition night. If music is not turned in on time you will not have music for the competition night resulting in disqualification. The DJ will not be entering song choices, for contestants, the night of competition. Contestants may not repeat any song from their prior performances, unless stated in the week’s song line-up, or those of another contestant. All songs are available on a first come – first serve basis. Please get your song choices in as early as possible to guarantee your choices.

DISQUALIFICATIONS: In the event of a disqualification, a replacement contestant may be made through week three only. The replacement contestants will be selected in the order in which they finished in the auditions. If a replacement cannot take a spot, we will continue down the list until one is available.

WEEKLY SONG LINE-UPS & ELIMINATIONS

Auditions: 2 songs of your choice from the supplied list (8 from each night move on)

Week 1 (Birth Year) 2 songs from your birth year, different artists (1 Eliminated)

Week 2 (Now & Then) 1 song now between 2020-2025 & 1 song then between 1980-2000 (2 Eliminated)

Week 3 (Open Song Choices) 2 songs of your choice, different artist (2 Eliminated)

Week 4 (Country Night) 2 songs of choice (2 Eliminated)

Week 5 (Open Song Choices) 3 songs from your favorite artists, different artists (2 Eliminated)

Week 6 (Rock N Roll Night) 3 songs of choice, different artists (2 Eliminated)

Week 7 (Open Song Choices) 3 songs of choice, different artists (2 Eliminated)

Week 8 (FINALS) Any 3 Songs from your previous performances & 1 anthem song showing why you should be the 2026 Karaoke Idol

JUDGING: Each week three (3) guest judges will critique each performance during the evening. We ask that our Judges be respectful & courteous to all contestants & fellow judges. Critiques can be uncomfortable for some individuals, so we ask that our judges keep the comments airy & fun with some honest insights. Judges will be scoring each performance in three (3) categories, Voice, Performance & Overall Stage Presence. Judges will use a scale of 1-10 in each category, (1being low & 10 being high). All judging scores will be added to all audience tabulations.

VOTING: Audience participation will be crucial to the success of the contest and to those competing. Each competition week audience members will be given a voting slip to vote for their favorite contestants. Audience members will rank each contestant in order that they feel pertains to their performance. Example: 10 contestants – rate your best w/ a 10, next best w/ a 9 and so on down to your least favorite w/ a 1. The entire voting slip must be filled in to be valid & counted; this gives everyone a chance in the contest. All voting slips will be collected 10 minutes after the last judge’s comment. Votes will be tallied immediately, and we will announce those still in the competition in random order and eliminate 1 or more contestants from the competition.

INTERMISSIONS: Brief intermissions will take place after each round of competition for contestants to prepare for the next round

GRAND PRIZE: The winner of the Karaoke Idol Contest will receive a check in the amount of $1000.00, a Trophy & the title of “KARAOKE IDOL 2026”

. 2nd Place will receive $300.00 & a Trophy & 3rd Place will receive $200.00 & a trophy.

GENERAL: All decisions of the judges, DJ & the audience votes are final. If a contestant or audience member acts inappropriately, the Judges, DJ or Sponsors may ask them to leave the premises immediately. If it is a contestant, they may be disqualified from the competition. Each week the contest will be streamed live.
