Karaoakland Summer Contest- WEIRD FLEX, BUT OK!
About this Event
It's our last official summer event at Legionnaire!
The theme is: Weird Flex, But OK! This time, we want to see your secret (or not-so-secret) talents WHILE you perform karaoke!
Maybe you've got a spot-on Celine Dion impression. Maybe you can do "Alphabet Aerobics" with your eyes closed. Maybe you haven't told anyone you're actually a Fushigi ™ master. Well, it's time to let the world know.
Show off your vocals, work the crowd, and win a prize! Also, bragging rights :)
There will be availability for 20 entries to sign up and compete. Sign ups will open two weeks before, July 20, at 8 pm. You may sign up as a solo, duet, or group!
Please reserve your spot in advance on Eventbrite, and include your top 2 song choices so we can avoid overlap. If there are still spots available night of, people can sign up in person. Competitors will be asked to bring $10 CASH or Venmo @Karaoakland for the prize pot PER ENTRY. The theme is WEIRD FLEX BUT OK! You may interpret the theme however you'd like!
COMPETITION STRUCTURE: The winner will be chosen via ranked choice audience voting. Entries will be divided up into rounds, and the audience will vote after each round. After all rounds are over, we will announce the winner(s) of each round, and they will come back onstage to perform a friendly song together as the audience votes for the final time.
Winner(s) will get $100 cash; the remaining funds will go to our very own nonprofit liaison Alex Gamero-Garrido, for his family who was displaced after the tragic earthquake in Venezuela in June.
