The workshop will be more than a craft class: it connects Kantha’s tradition of reuse, storytelling, sustainability, and collective making.
About this Event

During this workshop you will work exclusively with offcuts, surplus and reclaimed fabrics, aligned with the ethos of Kantha, where old saris and discarded tectiles have traditionally been layered, stitched and transformed in to something useful and meaningful. You may also bring along your own surplus fabric pieces too.

You will be guided by your workshop host Shama (@Culturally_Yours), a Heritage Craft specialist, to create a small Kantha textile piece - such as a stiutched panel, textile artwork, wall hanging, cushion panel or a section of a larger collaborative Kantha. You will learn the techniques, experiment with motifs and consider the stories you want to tell.
