UTC-05:00Location
Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site and Botanical Garden | Topeka, KS
Several months ago, I met with Shawnee County Parks and Recreation to propose an idea for a Kansas Honey Festival—and I’m excited to share that it’s becoming a reality! As of our most recent meeting, plans are moving forward for the first annual Kansas Honey Festival to be held in September 2025.
My goal is simple: to celebrate National Honey Month by educating and entertaining the public, building awareness about honey bees, and promoting the beekeeping industry we all love.
📅 Event Details (Tentative)
Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025
Location: Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site & Botanical Garden, Downtown Topeka
We chose this date to avoid conflicts with the Kansas State Fair and to align with National Honey Month. The venue feels just right for a first-year event—charming and accessible without being overwhelming.

Educational exhibits
Food and craft vendors
Beekeeping demos and hands-on learning opportunities
📣 CALLING ALL BEEKEEPERS
We’re currently seeking:
Vendors: Please send a list of the products you plan to sell. This helps us reduce overlap and create a diverse marketplace.
Volunteers: We’d love your help on the day of the event (or leading up to it).
Exhibitors/Speakers: If you have something you'd like to showcase—such as hives, gear, extraction tools, candle-making demos, bee education displays, etc.—let me know! You’re welcome to self-promote, but we ask that all exhibits stay focused on education and excitement for the public.
Whether you want to help, participate, or just share ideas—I’d love to hear from you.
This is going to be a fun and meaningful event, and I can’t wait to work with many of you to make it a success!
