This is the event page for the 2025 Kansas Cannonball 550! This is a 550-mile bikepacking gravel ride. The route will be posted in a pinned comment.
The rules are simple and follow every other non-supported bikepacking race EXCEPT the Tour Divide, which oddly enough has the same rules too. đź¤. Rules can be found here: https://tourdivide.org/the_rules

There’s no support on this course, so if you decide to drop, please have a plan in place. It’s like my Mom told me about jail - if you get yourself in there, you can get yourself out. There will be no SAG stops, checkpoints, or other services. The best way to look at it is this is a 550-mile drop ride.
We will coordinate again with Trackleader’s and have a link available if you want to sign up for that. Please note - they are a separate entity and in no way associated with me. I just provide the link they give me and an address to send trackers to. We have had issues with trackers either not arriving or arriving late almost every year, so if you’re renting, please take note. I DO happen to have an extra tracker, for that very reason. Either way, it will be available if you’re interested.
If you’re going for a Cannonball record, we do ask that you track your ride in some form, just for verification. It’s not that we don’t trust you, we just want to have proof to show the other people who don’t trust you. It’s not me, it’s them. 🤣
Last Friday in September, kickoff is at 7:15am (Granada Coffee opens at 7 👍) in front of the Granada Theater in Emporia. First person in “wins.” So does the last person.
