About This Workshop:
Step into the vibrant world of Afro-Cuban Salsa. Explore cultural roots, rhythm, musicality, and authentic technique while moving with intention and connection.
While dance naturally provides physical benefits such as improved coordination, balance, and stamina, this is not a fitness class or Zumba-style session. Instead, this workshop will be structured around learning and practicing real Salsa dance foundations and building toward a choreographed routine.
This experience will also foster creativity, self-expression, and social connection through the shared joy of dance.
Topics include:
- Core Salsa footwork and timing
- Afro-Cuban body movement and isolations
- Musical interpretation and rhythm training
About your instructor Alberto:
Alberto Valdes is an experienced Afro-Cuban Salsa instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience. He is known for his engaging, inclusive approach and his ability to make dance accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels. His teaching emphasizes cultural context and technique, helping students grow both as dancers and as performers.
Price: $37.50 plus HST - non members must pay drop in guest fee plus workshop fee.
