Sunday, May 3
11:00am 12:30pm
📍 Meet at NW corner of Battle St and First Ave
🏠 Walk Description: Battle is one of Kamloops's older streets, reflecting everything you could hope to see in the changing city. We will meet at the NW corner of Battle and First Avenue, walk west to examine Kamloop's elite, though surprisingly mixed, older housing, then return east to the changed and still changing downtown. There, we see both industrial and post-industrial adaptation and the still-untested experiment of City Gardens. East of 6th, Battle is both working class, newly gentrified and many things in between, while the scruffy industrial-commercial east makes up in interest and diversity what it lacks in beauty. We will backtrack to finish at Kamloops’s best-named eating place: The Kamloops Artisan Bazaar and Soup Desire Café at 7th and Victoria.
