Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra: Commemoration

It's a significant milestone, worthy of note: the American experiment is 250 years old this year. But it comes at a moment in our nation's history that is particularly fraught, when our shared sense of self is split into diametrically opposed ideologies (or so it seems online, at least). Accordingly, our fall programming -- featuring the rarely heard Japanese Suite by Gustav Holst, Ethiopia's Shadow in America by Florence Price, and the Reformation Symphony by Felix Mendelssohn -- commemorates this milestone in a way that invites both reflection and celebration.
