About this Event
Join us for our first fundraising event for our upcoming project: the Kakehashi Project. The Kakehashi Project is a new commission from Collective Counterpoint for taiko soloist Kohtaro Yamakawa and composer Erika Oba, written for taiko and string orchestra. Premiering in May 2026, the work bridges Japanese drumming traditions with the sound world of Western classical strings, creating a vibrant space for cultural exchange and artistic discovery. The final product will culminate in a community event featuring food vendors, art vendors, and a concert featuring the commission.
