kaate presents: Sensory Sessions

Kaate (Katie Mathews) is a local chef/DJ, seeking to reunite people back to their bodies, to each other, to pleasure, to presence. She hails as chef from Joui Wine, so this one is for the home team!

Join us at Joui on August 15 from 7-11pm for the second installment of Sensory Sessions. Sensory Sessions is all about slowing down and sinking into the senses. It’s about pleasure as the gateway drug to presence, if you will. The mind can be everywhere, but the body is always right where it is, waiting to be delighted, waiting to remind us that peace is right under our noses, or in the way our mouths waters in anticipation of that first bite, or in the way our hips move to a beat, or in the music piercing through thought.

You can expect food and drink pairings, a one-night-only dessert from the vault, a downtempo DJ set by Kaate from 7-9, and then we’ll kick the vibe up for a late night dance party from 9-11. We’re talking Arabic techno, acid house, and of course a little (tasteful) slut pop because we see you, hunny. Desperate times call for desperate pleasures. See you there.
