Making space for courageous conversations this Mental Health Awareness Week 2024.You are warmly invited to take part in a Kōrero and Kai at the Pioneer lounge this Wednesday 25 September. The purpose of this session is to create a space where people can come and chat, ask questions, and find helpful information on mental health.
Connect with registered health care providers, Jordan and Dan, who have a passion for promoting wellbeing and supporting people to maintain a strong sense of self even through life's inevitable challenges.
This is a relaxed and open forum where no topic is too small or too heavy. Whether you may be looking for advice, support, or simply a chat, Jordan and Dan will be there to help connect and find a way back to wellbeing.
This event is free for members and non-members are welcome. Join us on Wednesday 25 September, anytime between 11am to 1pm in the Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre Lounge.
We can offer ideas about how to notice if yourself, or someone else, is struggling mentally and what to say and do next to meet a need for support. Getting the balance right between knowing when it's beyond what we can handle without good, experienced helpers, and at the other end of the spectrum, fearing any approach at all because we worry it might be unhelpful or unwanted.
It's about having courageous conversations. We are likely to all need support when our emotions or concerns get too heavy to bear alone. This is a great opportunity to chat with specialists who help bridge that gap between what we're feeling and where we'd like to be. Together we can return to a satisfying life of wellbeing.
