Just Tapped Book Club: Murder on 34th Street by Mariah Fredericks
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... with a little murder mixed in!
We're wrapping up a wonderful year of Just Tapped Book Club with a trip back to 1932 New York City, where the holiday magic of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is about to take a decidedly deadly turn.
In Murder on 34th Street by Mariah Fredericks, Grace Verlander is the hardworking, behind-the-scenes problem solver who keeps the iconic Macy's department store running smoothly. She may not have an impressive title, but she knows the store, its employees, and its secrets better than almost anyone.
Just three days before the famous Thanksgiving Day Parade, Grace discovers a disturbing note from the store's Santa Claus. Someone has threatened to K*ll him.
Grace takes the warning seriously, working with store security to keep the parade safe. But despite their precautions, a dead body turns up on one of the floats during the celebration!
Now Grace must use her sharp instincts and intimate knowledge of Macy's to uncover a killer before the scandal destroys the reputation of the beloved department store.
Filled with vintage New York charm, holiday glamour, intriguing characters, and plenty of secrets, Murder on 34th Street promises a delightful blend of nostalgia and murder mystery.
Join us for our December Just Tapped gathering! We'll talk suspects, motives, clues, twists, and everything we loved (or didn't!) about this festive whodunit. Expect good conversation, a few fun activities, plenty of laughs, and perhaps a little amateur detective work of our own.
