“Just a Little Bit of Sugar” follows the story of a midwestern family as they traverse themes of
loss, faith, and the American dream in the 1990’s. Wrought with humor, compassion, and
tragedy, we are left to witness how tender and yet calloused we can be when asked to accept
the truths of others against our own thoughts and feelings. The show moves between a family
gathering and glimpses of memories that bring us deeper into understanding how they came to
be; with all of their beauty and imperfections. “Just a little Bit of Sugar” is a reflection of
ourselves, asking us to wonder what we would do if it happened to us.
