About this Event
About the Class
Junk to Sculpture Crafting is a hands-on creative class where you turn old, broken, forgotten, or sentimental objects into meaningful 3D art. Using found objects, recycled materials, salvaged pieces, and personal treasures, you will create a one-of-a-kind sculpture that tells a story.
This class is about more than making something pretty. It is about giving old things a new future. A broken necklace, antique key, bottle cap, game piece, button, bolt, bead, or piece of stained glass can become part of a personal work of art.
Each participant will create a small sculpture using approximately 10 selected pieces. You may choose from items provided in class, including stained glass pieces, nuts and bolts, jewels, beads, bevels, hardware, and decorative findings. You are also encouraged to bring small objects from home that have meaning or character.
Your finished project may be attached to a 14-inch garden stake for outdoor garden art or a 5-inch ring for a hanging art piece.
Good items to bring include jewelry pieces, charms, buttons, bottle caps, game pieces, small toys, antique keys, coins, medals, nuts, bolts, beads, small metal objects, or other found treasures. Copies of photos, letters, postcards, receipts, or other paper memories may also be included for an additional laminating or service charge.
This class uses wire wrapping and hot glue. There is no soldering. We provide shared hand tools, a grinding station, hot glue station, common tools, guidance, and creative suggestions. The class may also include use of the Rage Room to safely take apart or make “loving adjustments” to objects you bring.
No art experience is required. Come ready to explore, laugh, remember, build, and maybe even bling it up.
Bring your junk. Leave with a sculpture that tells a story.
Rage Room Experience
All classes include Rage Room smashing. Students are encouraged to write, draw or doodle an image of what makes them happy or sad on the dinnerware provided. In a symbolic gesture, the item is smashed to pieces, representing multiplied blessings or riddance of ill feelings.
The Fine Print:
• Closed toe shoes required. Long pants preferred for smashing activities.
• Participants sign a Personal Injury Waiver and an Intellectual Property Waiver to attend class. Please read Waiver before your event. There will be a copy for you to sign in person at the event. Adults must sign on behalf of minor participants. Photos and/or videos of you and your project may be used for promotional purposes on social media or other platforms. If you wish to be excluded, please notify us at check in.
• Rescheduling or cancelations are only accepted up to 48 hours before the event date. No refunds will be made for part or all of the class value after the cancelation deadline.
