Junior Farmer with a Twist is our hands-on summer program where children ages 6-12 learn what it’s really like to help care for the amazing animals that call Majestic Meadows home!
This small-group program gives children the chance to learn what it’s like to care for animals on a working farm through age-appropriate chores, guided activities, and unforgettable animal experiences.
Participants will explore daily farm life by helping with safe, supervised tasks such as preparing enrichment, learning how animals are fed and cared for, practicing proper farm etiquette, and understanding how teamwork helps keep both animals and people safe. Along the way, junior farmers will gain a deeper appreciation for animal welfare, responsibility, and respect.
Children will spend time learning about a variety of the animals that call Majestic Meadows home, including farm favorites like alpacas, llamas, goats, sheep, mini horses, mini donkeys, mini cows, camels, kangaroos, wallabies, tortoises, rabbits, and more. This program also includes opportunities to observe and learn about a variety of ambassador animals here on our farm. Experiences may include animals such as capybaras, porcupines, otters, armadillos, skunks, coatimundis, and more, depending on the day, animal comfort, and operational needs.
Throughout the morning, participants will enjoy interactive learning, hands-on activities, and keeper-led discussions that make science, empathy, and conservation come alive in a fun and engaging way.
Every session is thoughtfully structured while allowing children the opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with animals at a pace that is enjoyable and respectful to the animals who call the farm home.
Please note: Animal experiences vary by session and are always guided by animal welfare, weather conditions, and individual animal needs. Direct interaction with specific animals is not guaranteed, and some species may be observation-only to ensure their well-being.
