Junior Counselor Training for Teens Grades 9-12

The SummerKids Junior Counselor program is designed to give teens practical work experience while still enjoying the fun traditions, songs and games of camp.
This summer program consists of 1 mandatory week of training, followed by at least 2 full weeks of service at SummerKids. Service weeks are flexible, offered between June 29-August 17, and chosen by the participant during the registration process.
Interns build their resumes with these transferable skills:
- Supervision, Leadership, Planning and organizing
- Activity preparation, Facilitation, Mentorship
- Communication, Group management
DATES AND HOURS:
Training week: June 22-26, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Two or more practicum weeks: SummerKids sessions from June 29 thru August 17.
Participants can share availability for practicum weeks during the registration process. Work schedules will be confirmed at training.
