Juneteenth Worship & Community Luncheon
Faith, Freedom, Neighbor-love
Worship 10:30 AM | Community Luncheon to follow
Reconciling Welcome means more than opening our doors; it means letting our neighbors' stories shape our worship, our prayer, and our life together. Lutherans have always understood that the freedom Christ gives us is freedom for one another. On Sunday, June 14th, New Hope marks Juneteenth around the theme "Faith, Freedom, Neighbor-love," because the God we worship is the God of the Exodus, the God of resurrection, and the God who commanded us to love our neighbor. Juneteenth names the moment when freedom finally reached those for whom it had been withheld. As the Body of Christ, that history is ours, because liberation is unfinished until it is shared. After worship, we gather for a community luncheon, where grace takes its most beautiful form. Everyone is welcome at this table, and we mean that literally.
