Community planning meeting forthcoming.
This project includes two key components:
1. Curriculum Development: Camden educators will collaborate to research and develop a Juneteenth calendar that can be used as a year-round educational tool in schools and the community.
2. Citywide Poetry Contest: Students will participate in a themed poetry contest, and winning entries will be featured in the 2026 Juneteenth calendar.
The purpose of the Camden Juneteenth Festival is to unite the community in celebration of freedom, honor African American contributions to U.S. and global history, elevate Black culture, support youth through education and scholarships, promote Black-owned businesses, and encourage civic engagement.
