Juneteenth Gravestone Dedication and Cemetery Tour
About this Event
Pvt. Samuel Pratt fought for his country and the emanicpation of his people as part of Co. D, 24th United States Colored Infantry - segregated, but free.
In 1926, Pratt passed away at the age of 87, interred at Greendale Cemetery without a tombstone for 100 years. Join us to dedicate a new gravestone for Samuel as well as learn more about the African American Civil War soldiers buried there.
*Please note: this will be a walking tour starting at 10AM. If you are unable to walk long distances for the tour, we still encourage you to join us at the cemetery at 10:45 for the gravestone dedication. Signage will direct you to his burial location.
