JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION
About this Event
Join Art in Oregon for a special Juneteenth celebration in Portland's Pearl District, honoring Black creativity, community, and dialogue through the exhibitions BLACK MATTER and BLACK MATTER SALON, on view at Studio 516 Gallery and Blackfish Gallery.
The evening begins with a panel discussion at Blackfish Gallery (938 NW Everett St) from 5:30–7:00 PM featuring participating artists and community leaders in conversation about the importance of investing in contemporary Black artists and creative practice.
Guests are then invited to continue the celebration at Studio 516 Gallery (516 NW 14th Ave) from 5:00–9:00 PM for an evening of art, live music, food, and community gathering.
Located just a short walk apart, the two exhibitions offer a unique opportunity to experience the breadth and depth of work created by the BLACK MATTER family of artists while celebrating Juneteenth through art, reflection, and connection.
This event is resented by Art in Oregon and sponsored by the City Club Arts & Culture Committee and Prosper Portland.
