About this Event
Queer Pickleball Night: Drag Royalty of the Courts
Sponsored by Limestone Clinic Kingston Counselling & Psychotherapy
A fun, friendly, queer-affirming night of pickleball for LGBTQIA2S+ folks and allies — this time with a playful tournament-style twist.
For our June Queer Pickleball Night, we’re trying Drag Royalty of the Courts, a queer and campy spin on the classic “King of the Court” format.
In this style of play, teams move through the courts based on game results, with the goal of working your way toward the top court by the end of the evening. But please do not panic: this is still meant to be friendly, social, and community-minded. Think campy community challenge, not terrifying competitive sports league.
The event will run for two hours, with 6 courts and space for 24 players.
Players will be randomly paired at the start of the evening and will play with the same partner for the duration of the event. You do not need to come with a partner — solo registration is very welcome.
Expect timed doubles rounds, rotating courts, friendly competition, laughter, movement, and a little dramatic flair because frankly, why not?
And yes: there will be prizes.

This event is best suited for people who know the basics of pickleball and are comfortable getting into casual doubles play. You do not need to be amazing. You do not need to be intense. You do not need to own a visor or have a suspiciously professional-looking sports bag.
You just need to be ready to play, rotate, laugh, meet some people, and avoid pulling a hamstring if at all possible.
No pressure, no nonsense — just pickleball, good people, and your chance to become part of the extremely prestigious, only mildly ridiculous Drag Royalty of the Courts.

This is intentional — the rotating format helps keep the event social, inclusive, and community-oriented, especially for people coming on their own and looking to establish new connections in the community.
If you strongly prefer to play with a particular partner, you may be able to sort that out informally depending on how the evening unfolds, but that won’t be the default setup.
Secondary agenda: pickleball.
Primary agenda: the gay one ;)
