June First Day Hike

Join Compass Point, home of Dirty Girl Adventures, for a First Day Hike! Part of our year-long series of First Day Hikes, we will explore the trails at the Grant Bradbury Prairie outside of Topeka.

Mowed grass trails encircle the perimeter and run through this 76.2-acre park. The Grant-Bradbury nature area is a virgin/native prairie (never been plowed). The prairie area blooms with wild flowers during June. There are many bird houses located along the trail. We will take the time to notice all the nature around us as we hike the trails. When you hike with Dirty Girl Adventures, we accommodate different paces, marvel at the small details of nature, and connect with the group, creating new friendships along the way. Research shows us that time in nature with community is good for our whole health come with us to reap the benefits! Building community in nature is good for all of us!

Monday June 1st we'll hike at the Grant Bradbury Praririe

• We will meet at the Grant Bradbury Prairie outside of Topeka (specific directions will be emailed 24 hours before the event)
• Guided group hiking with information about the trails and the local flora and fauna.
• Bring/Wear: hat, bandana, sun screen, BUG SPRAY, trekking poles, shoes with good tread.
• We recommend using Permethrine to treat your clothing to repel ticks and mosquitos.

Regular cost: $30

Club cost: $25

Registration, Benefits, and Safety

Your registration fee ensures a professionally organized and guided event by Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC. This includes a knowledgeable guide service with both a lead and sweep guide, comprehensive trail support (first aid, safety monitoring, pacing), and docent information about the environment and locale. We prioritize your safety by continuously monitoring weather and conditions.

Refund Policy

Full refunds are available if requested via email to @[email protected] up to two weeks before the event. No refunds are provided after this two-week deadline. Dirty Girl Adventures reserves the right to cancel an event only in cases of severe weather or dangerous conditions, in which case all participants will receive a full refund. Note that we typically proceed with events in cool, rainy, or snowy conditions.
