June Book Club at Northwest Yarns & Mercantile

Our June book for book club is Crafting for Sinners by Jenny Kiefer, a horror novel that asks an important question: just how dangerous can a craft store be? Ruth loses her job at a church-owned craft store when her boss discovers she has a girlfriend rather than a boyfriend. Angry, she decides to steal yarn as a form of minor revenge. When she is discovered by the store employees, Ruth finds herself trapped in the store. Now she must fight for her life with only the craft supplies she has at hand.
Crafting for Sinners is about queer identity, religious and corporate power, the weaponization of fear, and the bonds of chosen family.
