Next months presentation is at 7pm on the 13th July 2026 at The Coliseum where Sally Atkinson from Parkol Marine Engineering will be coming to talk to us about Parkol: Anchored in Whitby: Aiming for the future
Discover the story of Parkol Marine Engineering, from its origins following the construction of Pickerings Wharf in 1969 to becoming one of Britain’s leading boatbuilders. This illustrated talk charts the remarkable growth of Parkol Marine Engineering since 1971. Discover the company’s history, today’s operations at Eskside Wharf, the expanding Middlesbrough facility, notable new builds including the North Eastern Guardian IV, and Parkol’s exciting future in modern British shipbuilding.
After a 22-year career delivering major water, flood defence and coastal infrastructure projects, Sally joined Parkol Marine Engineering in 2013 and now oversees the company’s commercial and financial operations as Commercial Manager.
