📍 Where: The Secret Garden Community Hub at Western Sydney University Hawkesbury
📅 When: July 11
⏰ From 9:30am
The Secret Garden Community Hub is a charming outdoor play space nestled within the peaceful surrounds of Western Sydney University, Richmond. Surrounded by established trees, gardens, and open green spaces, it offers a calm and inviting environment where children can explore, create, and connect through play. The space features nature-inspired elements, open areas for movement, and plenty of opportunities for sensory-rich outdoor experiences 🌿
Please note: the Secret Garden is not fully fenced and is located within the university grounds. The area is generally quiet and set away from busy roads, however children will need to remain under active adult supervision at all times. There is convenient nearby parking and easy access to the play space for families attending.
✨ What’s included:
• Sensory tuff trays with rotating themes
• Arts & crafts for creative expression
• Water play & bubbles (because… instant joy)
• Open-ended, child-led play stations
• Optional group moments (like bubbles or parachute play—join in only if it feels right!)
This is a low-demand, supportive environment where children can engage at their own pace, and parents can connect with others who truly understand.

Our Intention
While the children are absolutely at the heart of this day, the true centre of this playgroup is the families and carers. Raising and caring for neurodivergent children can sometimes feel isolating — this space is designed to be the community around you. A place to connect, share, breathe, and feel understood.
Together, we hope to create something lasting — not just a fun morning, but the foundation of a supportive network for Western Sydney families.
⸻
Important Informations
• This is a free event. Please be cautious of any messages requesting payment — we will never ask for fees.
• We are not a business entity. This is a parent-run community initiative created with care and good intention.
• Siblings are absolutely welcome.
• Most tuff tray activities use taste-safe ingredients for safe sensory play. If your child has any food allergies, please let us know in advance so we can make suitable adjustments.
• Children must remain under the supervision of their parent or carer at all times.
• Please bring picnic mats or blankets, hats, water bottles, and comfortable outdoor clothing.
• Weather notice: As this is an outdoor event, we will monitor the forecast closely. In the case of heavy rain or unsafe weather conditions, the event may be postponed. Any updates or cancellations will be announced on this page in advance.
👉🏻 Please bring spare clothes for your child. Sensory play can get delightfully hands-on.
💛 Bring along a picnic rug, snacks, and anything that helps your child feel safe and comfortable.
⸻
We cannot wait to gather, connect, and build something special together.
Don’t forget to look for the Sunflower. See you there! 🌻✨
