Please join us, all are welcome new or returning to CUUPs, Bring a friend.
Join us on July 19 for the ancient festival of Aset Luminous, celebrating Her triumphant search for her murdered husband Osiris, bringing Him back to life as King of the Underworld. After the potluck at 6:00 pm, Ginette Novello and Robert Reno of the House of Netjer Kemetic Orthodox Temple will present the origins of this festival, and how it still extends into our modern age. Paper boats will be constructed with a letter to Aset written inside, and placed on an altar to Aset. A call-response rite will then be performed, after which the participants will take
their boats down to the Rio Grand to launch with a tea light placed inside. All materials will be provided.
We will have a potluck starting at 6 pm (feel free to bring a dish of your liking, or not) followed by the discussion at 7 pm.
CUUPs Monthly Gatherings are held in the Religious Education Building in the back of the Church (west end).
