Join us for a 5:30pm early winter evening at the Nelson Provincial Museum for a special guided talk of "Taku Tau Tīkumu" by Kaitiaki Taonga Māori Hamuera Manihera. The exhibition is about the story of tīkumu, a resilient mountain plant bound to generations of knowledge, skill, and care. The talk will cover the relationships between tīkumu, alpine environments, mātauranga Māori, and the revival of these practices through contemporary ringa toi.
Please remember to bring Koha for our hosts. Cash and tap options available.
We recommend parking in Montgomery Square or Buxton Parking areas and walking over to the museum. Please arrive before 5:30pm and gather downstairs in the foyer.
