10:00 AM **America 250 Parade, *****organized by Dan Proctor.**** * Line up starts, 9am, at Lima Primary School on College St. The route is right on Elm, right on E. Main, rt. on Rochester St., right on Ziegler Dr., into Mark Tubbs Park.
Bring your family, lawn chairs, and a beverage cooler. Find your favorite viewing spot, and enjoy a hometown parade celebrating 250 years of America.
11:00 AM – 4:00 PM � **Classic AmeriCruise Car Show *****organized by Sue Gaiter, Ben Dodzweit, and Wyatt Huff*****. **Featuring antique tractors, vintage fire engines, motorcycles, **muscle cars, trucks, red, white, and blue section, and more. *Donation is appreciated to Be Well in Lima at the entrance for registration fee.*
12 PM **Salute to Nation** ***presented by Francis M. Dalton ***Lima American Legion Post 282**. Anthony Gaiter, **Sergeant at Arms and Color Guard will perform a 21 gun salute, simultaneous to the nation.
3pm **Awards ceremony** for Veterans Way 250 Challenge, Parade, and Car Show, with prizes and trophies.
**Historical Activities *****Organized and Hosted by our Lima Town Historian, Karen Hanson-Fritz. ***
An **America 250 Display **will be in the Pavilion at the park, with a banner for all to sign, just as our forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence. *You can sign the banner to acknowledge that you celebrated America 250 here in Lima. *In addition, our historian has made signs celebrating 250 years of both American and Lima history, which will be displayed in the park.
There will be **Rock Painting** featuring patriotic themes.
**Bring your small U.S. flags to the celebration! The Lima Historian will be giving out both small U.S. and Lima flags (limited).**
4 and 7 PM� **Patriotic Skits**, ***hosted by Ska-Hase-Ga-O Chapter, NSDAR*****, (Daughters of the American Revolution). **Sign up, rehearse and enjoy going back in time. Speaking and non-speaking parts will be available for those who would like to participate in the play.
� **Cannons for Kannon for $20, *****sponsored by the Lima Civil War Reenactment and hosted by HFLM Kiwanis Club*****.** This fundraiser has been a part of Lima’s July 4th event for several years, raising money for accessible playground equipment and park features.
**50-year Time Capsule** viewing, welcoming items shared from the public, signing of the yearbooks, ***organized by Dan Proctor, Trinika Skiptunas, and Brian Smith. ***
Between 9:30-10pm **FINALE� Spectacular Fireworks, *****sponsored by people of the Village and Town of Lima*****. **A perfect ending to an memorable day celebrating America's 250th birthday and Lima's Semiquincentennial!
1:00-3:00pm **Lima Historical Society** welcomes the community to visit **Tennie Burton Museum** on 1850 Rochester St. Come see the Society's ***Revolutionary War relics*** and obtain a copy of a ***self-guided driving tour*** highlighting the final resting places and/or homes of many of the 35 veterans who lived in Lima. Check out their float in the parade. They will have a table at the park with Society information and where people can also pick up a copy of the driving tour brochure.
� **Looking Ahead**
Saturday, July 11, 10am ***hosted by Ska-Hase-Ga-O Chapter, NSDAR*****, (Daughters of the American Revolution) **for a **Dedication Ceremony honoring Paul Davison, our founder of Lima. **Location: Oak Ridge Cemetery on Livonia Center Road, close to Rt. 5 and 20. This special ceremony recognizes the legacy of the man whose vision helped establish our community.
**In the fall**, at Village Green, located east side of Lima Town Hall, Be Well in Lima will be having an **America 250 Historical, Heritage, and Liberty Ceremony** for the **Time Capsule** burial along with our **Liberty Tree** planting ***sponsored by Jon Cates, Lima Town Supervisor.***
**We hope to see you around town as we celebrate our community, our history, and the people who make Lima such a special place to call home!**
