Celebrate the 5th Saturday in July! The public is invited to Plead The Fifth, a night of storytelling, music, art, truth, and inspiration from 7 to 9 p.m. at Búho, Brownsville's independent bookstore at 1140 E Washington St.
Featured readers include Anthony Ripp, Jeannette Zallar, Lucinda Zamora Wiley, Sofia Zamora-Wiley, Kathy Trenfield Raines, Brownsville Poet Laureate Eduardo Villarreal Delos Reyes, and Daniel García Ordaz (a.k.a. The Poet Mariachi.)
Featured writers will have 10--12 minutes to perform. An open-mic session will follow, as time permits--with 5 minutes per open-mic performer.
This is a free event brought to you by the Seven To Eight Poetry Project.
We'd like to encourage guests to consider donating canned food or non-perishable food for the Food Bank of the RGV. This is not required, but welcome.
