July 2026 SWG Meeting

Reflecting on John Steinbeck’s words, he said, "What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness?" Ushering in our nation’s anniversary, it seems summer is in full swing. Let’s take this renewed activity (and heat) to journey on our paths to becoming better writers and to telling great stories. Our next meeting will be at the Sandusky Library on July 25th at the usual time. Try to have your July submissions in by July 18th at the latest. Please keep your submissions down to 12,000 words or fewer.
If you would like to bring a guest or two with you, you’re welcome to do so. If you’re new to the group and would like to partake in submissions and feedback, let me know, and I will get you set up. Or, if you would like to experience a meeting and get the general feel for the group, that’s groovy too. Masks are not required at our meetings, but if you feel more comfortable wearing one, by all means do. And remember to keep “sweetness” at the forefront of your feedback, with only constructive criticism. Cheers to the new month!
