About this Event

Join DCASE (Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events) for Juicebox, a free summer performing arts series designed for toddlers, young children, and their families. Held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of June, July, and August, Juicebox introduces young audiences to music, storytelling, dance, and interactive performances presented by youth-centered arts organizations from across Chicago.
Each event offers families the opportunity to experience the arts in a fun, welcoming, and engaging environment where children are encouraged to participate, explore, and discover new forms of creative expression.
The June 8 pilot event, presented in collaboration with Old Town School of Folk Music, features Gamelan Naga Biru, an ensemble that combines storytelling, music, and Indonesian performing arts traditions through both traditional and contemporary themes.
The June 22 and July 27 events will feature performances by Knott Us Band from the Knotty Luxe Foundation. These performances will showcase student musicians and provide interactive opportunities for youth and families to explore musical instruments and engage with live music.
On July 13, families can enjoy a performance by Little Miss Ann, presented in collaboration with Old Town School of Folk Music. This event will feature live music, audience participation, and family-friendly activities.
August 10th and 24th will include Chicago Children's Theater which will be presenting their Red Kite performance.
Free and open to the public. Suitable for toddlers, young children, and their caregivers.
