Join us for an insightful discussion with Judge Woody R. Clermont as he presents "From Taino Suns to Phoenix Flames: A Story of Haiti" at the 2026 Africana Arts & Humanities Festival.
Judge Woody R. Clermont is a writer, educator, leader, and attorney whose work bridges law, economics, history, data science, spirituality, and personal transformation. He is a Haitian American judge admitted to the practice of law in New York, Florida, and New Jersey, with over 21 years of courtroom experience. Judge Clermont is an award-winning author with multiple Literary Titan Gold and Silver Book Awards and a Second Place BookFest Award. His book "From Taino Suns to Phoenix Flames" was positively reviewed by Kirkus Reviews and chronicles the layers of Haiti's culture from the indigenous Taíno to the 20th century.
This free event is part of the Africana Arts & Humanities Festival celebrating African American culture, history, and artistic expression at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center.
