About the artist:
Joel Ricci Trio plays almost exclusively Ricci's original jazz compositions written in prototypical "jazz standard" style, however, as an internationally known "deep funk pioneer" and advocate and practitioner of greater social cohesion through dance music performances, composer Joel Ricci just can't help but bring his unique brand of rhythmic consciousness to his trio. The group features local artists Sal Michael, a lifelong percussionist, amateur accordionist, and an enthusiastically loud singer from the Inland Empire on drums, and Kendall Melton, multi instrumentalist, performer, and session musician from Sequim who is a member of several local working bands on electric and stand up bass.
