Mihaela Campion, LCPS
Mihaela Campion brings over twenty years of experience in the field as the founder of Psychotherapy and Transformational Movement. With a Master’s in Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, she specializes in counseling and embraces the richness of cultural diversity. A certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, Mihaela integrates Dr. Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability and shame into her practice. Her approach to couple’s therapy includes Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, emphasizing deep emotional connections. Mihaela is a licensed professional counselor with extensive experience in supporting individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges. Her warm and non-judgmental approach has earned her a reputation as a trusted guide for those seeking personal growth and healing. Beyond conventional therapy, Mihaela explores the therapeutic power of movement, using methods like Nia and Body-Mind Psychotherapy to facilitate emotional healing. She is the founder actively involved in volunteering, notably with Erasing the Distance and the Marjorie Kovler Center, leveraging the arts and psychotherapy to support mental health and survivors of torture.
In her free time, Mihaela is passionate about dance, music, community engagement, and women’s rights activism, embodying her belief in the healing power of movement and the importance of emotional expression.
Brighid O'Shaughnessy, LWS
Brighid O'Shaughnessy is a seasoned mental health professional and the founder of Return to the Roots, where she empowers youth and adults to cultivate emotional intelligence and build healthy relationships. With nearly 25 years of experience in the field, Brighid holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago, focusing on trauma and neuroscience, along with a graduate certificate in Restorative Justice in Education. Currently serving as a Social Worker and Restorative Practices Coach at Hillside Elementary School, Brighid is dedicated to creating equitable environments for all students, particularly those who are often misunderstood. Her work emphasizes the importance of repairing harm, transforming conflict and addressing systemic barriers to success. Before her role in education, Brighid founded Erasing the Distance, a non-profit that used documentary theater to raise awareness about mental health issues, reaching over 55,000 people nationwide. Her innovative approach has garnered numerous accolades, including the 3Arts Vision Award and recognition as one of America's top 200 Heroic Leaders by Extra Mile America. She has made other theatrical work about women's health as well as the impacts of racism and segregation and her current project focuses on adoption. She is also currently working on a book with Lived Places Press, highlighting the often hidden stories of adoptive families. In addition to her advocacy and coaching, Brighid is a passionate Nia practitioner and teacher, using movement to help individuals reconnect with their bodies and emotions.
