Journey to Ourselves: A Poetry Workshop

Very often, mainstream retellings of history don't reflect our own or our ancestors' experiences. Poetry--with its multiple meanings, associative leaps, and sensory focus—can be the perfect medium to tell the story differently! Join Lafayette Poet Laureate Michele Battiste for a 90-minute poetry workshop. We'll engage with the artworks in the Journey to Now exhibit to write poems that tell our own stories and histories from our own unique perspectives. Come prepared to think, explore, create, and share!
