Journey to Funkstar Brings Future Funk Opera to Springfield, MA on Juneteenth
New Orleans-Born Immersive Experience Features Water Seed, Big Chief Bo Dollis Jr., Erica Falls, Corey Henry, and Sean Ardoin

Journey to Funkstar, a groundbreaking live entertainment experience, will make its Springfield return on June 19th, 2025 (Juneteenth) at The Hope Center for the Arts. Billed as a Future Funk Opera, the event merges live music, 3D animation, and immersive storytelling to bring the comic book universe of Funkstar. Created by acclaimed New Orleans band Water Seed, this Funk Opera will be an evening featuring an Allstar lineup.
Special Guests include Big Chief Bo Dollis Jr., Erica Falls, Corey Henry, and Sean Ardoin.
Performers take the stage to perform a fully loaded concert while telling a one of a kind sci-fi story.
Beyond the main stage, attendees can engage with a full activation including video games, comic books, cosplay, and contests all set within the world of Funkstar.
